After 13 days of grit, dust and tension, Nasser Al-Attiyah and Fabian Lurquin delivered Dacia its very first outright victory at the 2026 Dakar Rally – Ultimate class. A historic success that goes beyond the performance of a single duo because winning the Dakar is about far more than crossing the finish line first. It is about teamwork between the hundreds of people and organisations it takes to design, build, maintain and race a winning car and the tons of equipment needed that together must survive the desert, day after day and deliver a winning performance.
Vital to the success of the team are vehicle service areas where mechanics work through the night to prepare vehicles for the next stage of the Dakar. Axion UK are proud to have supplied the special high pressure inflatable tents to Dacia partner Prodrive, who built and maintained the winning Dacia Sandrider specialist vehicle. This is our third year supplying tents for the Dakar to UK based Prodrive, a world-leading, multidisciplined motorsport and advanced engineering group.
The tents supplied for this year’s Dakar are our latest high pressure inflatable event tents, fully branded with the teams’ logos and graphics and linked together as shown in the photos. Axion UK 7m x 7m tents utilise high pressure support tubes provide a rigid structure capable of withstanding the high winds encountered in the desert and avoid sagging when the temperature drops at night.
Axion UK event tents have proven themselves in all forms of motorsports and with teams including M-Sport Ford, Peugeot, Toyota Gazoo Racing, Kawasaki Racing Team Green and many others.
